• Plan and cook a meal for your family.
• Encourage Scouts to post online stories from history and how humanity was able to overcome such difficulties and give people hope.
• Hold a virtual gaming meet. Or use Kahoot to host an online quiz.
• Coordinate a community-based support network. Work with your Chartered Organization to develop a plan. Offer your unit assistance in helping the needy.
• Post examples of how Scouts are helping the community on social media. Make sure to tag us in your post using #PTACpride
SWIMMING AND LIFE SAVING MERIT BADGES
FALL: October 11, 2022 – December 13, 2022
WINTER: January 3, 2022 – March 7, 2023
SPRING: March14, 2023 – May 16, 2023
BSA TUESDAY NIGHT SWIM – Since 1960
Location: The Playdium at Our Lady of Perpetual Help – 1776 Glenview Road, Glenview
First Week of Sessions:
1. ALL participants will take a swim test for Swimming Instruction. Beginners not wanting to take the test may start at the beginners’ level.
2. Based on an initial swim test, scouts will be placed in their ability groups.
3. Those pursuing Swimming or Lifesaving Merit Badges will come at 8 pm unless the merit badge counselor requests they attend the 7 PM session to work on skills and or endurance. Merit Badge (Swimming or Lifesaving) swim test First Week at 8 pm.
4. Please make sure to bring a completed, signed (by the unit leader) Blue Card the first night.
Morton Arboretum
It’s a bit of a trek but the Morton Arboretum has a page dedicated to Merit Badge Events they host. Many of these are Eagle Scout required badges.
